I’m So Tired of Sarah Palin!

Eleven weeks ago I turned my television on to CNN during my morning routine, and realized (after quite a bit of hub-bub) that Senator John McCain had announced Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. Back then my thoughts on Palin were, “who is she, we need to know more about her,” now my sentiments are, “when will we stop hearing from her?!?”

Throughout the presidential campaign getting a peep out of Palin was like pulling teeth. She was about as tight lipped as Beyonce and Jay-Z, with the few interviews she did have not really doing much to bolster confidence in her ability to lead the nation (should something happen to McCain). It wasn’t long before the mismanagement in McCain’s campaign was brought to light. He had failed to vet her properly, and then his aides gagged her out of fear she might say something stupid/ignorant/incorrect (pick one). Lo and behold, they were right (for all three). But, I don’t blame Sarah Palin for not knowing about the three different Bush Doctrines, or what the duty of the Vice President is with regards to the Senate. It wasn’t her job to know. It was her job to be the Governor of Alaska (and from the looks of it, I’d say the Alaskans think she’s doing just fine). It was the job of the McCain campaign to properly prepare for her, which they didn’t.

A report from CNN cites an interview from The National Review in which Rick Davis, former manager for the McCain campaign, admits that the reason $150,000 was spent on Palin’s wardrobe was partly because of a lack pf preparation and, “the right hand didn’t know what the left hand was doing, . . . ” I don’t blame Governor Palin for that, nor do I blame her for the constant media coverage she received then (even without giving any press conferences).

But, the election is over. So, I do blame Governor Palin now, along with the media, for constantly bombarding me with her pleas of innocence and her attempts to clear her name. Can someone please send out the memo that no one cares! I don’t care if she’s the future of the GOP. If the economy keeps going the way it is they don’t stand a chance in the next 4 years, either. I don’t care that McCain’s aides talk about her behind her back, or that her make up alone cost $5,000, or that she didn’t take direction well. I don’t care what she thinks we should do about the auto industry bailout, I don’t care if she was a camera hog at the Republican Governor’s Conference. Honestly, as long as it’s not illegal, I don’t care what Sarah Palin does anymore. So, can I get my tv back now? I barely had much time to watch it in the first place, and now, everytime I turn around Sarah Palin is on it! And, she’s not even my governor! She’s like the Britney Spears of politics.

LEAVE SARAH ALONE!

If for nothing else, for the sanity of Americans who are tired of hearing her voice. And, note to Sarah Palin and her handlers. . . STOP GIVING INTERVIEWS! The time we wanted to hear from you has long passed, Mrs. Palin. There is a such thing as over exposure, and in my head, you’ve already over stayed your welcome.

Now, I know blogging about her defeats my purpose since it’s just one more place her presence is invoked, but I needed to vent. So there. :-P
